Screen printing
Through years of specialisation, we’ve developed unique and proven methods of using ink extenders and retarders as well as a variety of other materials.
Many of the inks Sanderson use are manufactured solely for us and to our own proprietary specifications.
No supplier is more willing – and as well equipped – to work with you to achieve the seemingly impossible.
Sample making
For ‘selling’ your ideas to colleagues and clients, a sketch or verbal description is no match for the real thing. Enter the ‘Kongsberg’ sample-making table.
Sanderson can provide prototypes and samples superfast, using the latest specialised software in conjunction with our CAD-operated Kongsberg sample-making table. The Kongsberg enables us to turn flat sheets of turtlene® into three-dimensional marvels quicker than you might imagine. For simple jobs we can sometimes provide same-day service. Complex projects and miracles will take a little longer, of course.

After your product has been designed, the CAD-operated Kongsberg can produce prototypes with ease. The Kongsberg simply creases and cuts as illustrated here.

Forme-cutting
Sanderson use specialised CAD software to create artwork of the final shape for manufacturing die-formes. Similar to standard printers’ formes, they are assembled on a platten-style machine for forme cutting.
Our three forme-cutting machines have been specially designed and built to to meet our unique requirements.

turtlene® is as tough as it is flexible. No more flimsy presentations or packaging that falls apart after a short while. Your design and message enjoy lasting integrity with turtlene® working for them. turtlene® also has a great tactile quality that paper and card simply can’t match.
turtlene® is well-suited to a virtually unlimited range of packaging applications; it is waterproof and resistant to perfumes, petroleum-based products, and many solvents and other harsh chemicals. It is also food-safe and 100% recyclable.
Recycling: most of the turtlene® we use comprises around 40% recycled content. If required, we can use 100% recycled turtlene®. (Please contact us for details.) Sanderson is an environmentally responsible company and all of our post-production waste is recycled and re-used.
Colours and thicknesses: turtlene® comes in a wide range of colours and thicknesses. It can be translucent or opaque. Our handy chart indicates stock colours available as well as their closest PMS match and thicknesses. Special colours can also be supplied to your specifications provided your job’s run is large enough. Please contact us for details of the minimum quantities required for these special runs.

This alternative allows high-resolution photographic images with no limitation of printing; the use of embellishments; heavy 2mm board; matt or glass laminates and durable, workable spines. A plus for new architects
The design studio responsible for launching the new firm Architecture PLUS commissioned Sanderson to produce this promotional item. A functional and handy scale ruler comprises four pieces secured by a centre rivet. The pieces pivot on the rivet to form a plus sign to replicate the company’s logo. We printed brown ink onto translucent white polypropylene.

This example for an ANZ promotion is a distinctive square shape, with the corners rounded to reflect the company logo. Friend of the earth
An organisation like the RSPCA doesn’t pussyfoot around when it comes to portraying their work in the best possible light. The turtlene® bag we created for their Gala Ball not only promoted their important work with animals, but by being made from a recyclable product, it also associated them with environmental awareness.
Ink and more ink
While transparency and semi-transparency are great, it’s good to know that turtlene® has the printability required to take solid colours, on both sides if necessary. This case for moonlighting is printed solid all around in a metallic ink, and turtlene® adds a particular sheen and crispness that wouldn’t be possible with paper.

Making an excellent impression
Hall & Wilcox is one of Melbourne’s leading commercial and taxation law firms. Their design studio was commissioned to produce an impressive satchel in which to present the firm’s proposals to its clients. The design featured the company ‘ampersand’ logo, which was incorporated into the die-forme shape of the satchel. The satchel and folder were produced using clear polypropylene printed in three colours; the silver ampersand (positive or negative) printed on the inside, a black keyline version ampersand, and the red company logo were printed on the outside.
Tantalising simplicity
When flooring manufacturer Gerflor required a product sample pack, they turned to the evocative qualities of turtlene® to provide the wow factor they were looking for. This very simple use of transparent case with strong branding affords the user tantalising glimpses of the samples that await within.
A different path
What you put on a promotional CD is important. But so too is what the CD lives in. It’s a branding opportunity not to be missed.
This ANZ promotion was called A Very Different Path, so naturally they turned to the unique properties of turtlene® to help the packaging live up to the message. A clever use of printed and transparent components.
Elevating the ordinary
Run of the mill DVD cases are a little…run-of-the-mill. However, with the clever use of turtlene® the ordinary has the ability to become extraordinary, as this satchel for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s aerodrome safety DVD demonstrates. In terms of attractiveness, it’s semi-transparent design is really-forgive us-up there.
Binders & folders
Sanderson has produced a wide range of polypropylene binders and folders over the years. Many have incorporated the humble ring binder because, despite numerous attempts to improve on the original design, its simplicity and ease of use are still superior. As you’ll see, we’re adept at providing enhancements (graphics, forme-cutting, etc.) to create the all-important differences that make each job uniquely appropriate for each client’s needs.
Multi-tasking turtlene®
Sometimes you just want to contain a lot of stuff. And make it easily accessible. And be able to lug it around. And have it look good. And be sure it doesn’t fall apart in no time flat. This ANZ folder was designed and crafted to do all that, showing once again that turtlene® has the strength as well as the flexibility to the job.
Animal magnetism
This is a good example of bold, opaque printing on sturdy turtlene®. The bright corporate yellow of Heritage Seeds loses none of its vibrancy on this simple ring folder. For anything like a product manual that needs longevity and durability on a customer’s desk, especially when animals are involved, turtlene® is the answer.
Do it all
There are so many creative possibilities with turtlene® that it’s tempting to use all of them. One execution that uses a lot of those possibilities is this binder and slipcase for Pink Lady. Both pieces use a variety of design and print techniques that really make the most of the substrate’s excellent qualities.
